Just Food, a non-profit organization that works to develop a just and sustainable food system in the New York City region, presents "Food Justice and The Public Good: A New York City Summit on Farms and Food," a day-long marathon of workshops and roundtables bringing together farmers, consumers, and experts to share information, increase awareness about and find solutions to a number of issues pertaining to the city’s local food system. The January 24th event will end with a fine wine and cheese reception accompanied by live jazz.

Just Food and Gardener’s Supply Company Honor New York City Urban Farmers (October 29, 2003)
Eight urban farmers and have been recognized by Just Food for increasing food access in their neighborhoods. An astounding number of New Yorkers have poor access to fresh produce. Just Food’s City Farms program, through our Grow More Food Campaign, fosters better access to healthy, fresh produce by encouraging people to grow their own.
Just Food Expands Subsidy Program to Bring Fresh, Organic Food into Low-Income Neighborhoods (May 16, 2003)
Just Food, a NYC based non-profit organization that builds economic, environmental, and social justice through local sustainable food systems, along with a generous grant from New York Community Trust, has just made it a lot easier for low-income NYC residents to participate in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). The grant will be used to subsidize low-income shares in CSA groups throughout NYC.
