How do I apply?

Certificate Applications:

The application for Certificate students is available in October and is due by November 15 annually.

Applications will be reviewed by the Farm School NYC Students Committee, a group made up of urban farmers and community gardeners, food justice activists, current students, others involved in the field of Food Justice. This committee will select students based on how they intend to use what they learn in Farm School NYC after the program. The committee will also take into account life experience and demonstrated desire.

Core Course Applications:

Applications for individual core courses are available and reviewed by Farm School NYC's Students Committee on a seasonal basis. Please see the dates below for exact deadlines and visit our Course Offerings page for a list of specific courses offered within each season.

What is the cost?

We want our program to be accessible to all New Yorkers regardless of financial assets and responsibilities. Economic justice is central to the mission of Farm School and so we are committed to working with you so that cost is not an obstacle to attending Farm School NYC. In order to ensure that this unique level of accessibility is met, the School offers a sliding scale fee schedule based on household income and size. Certificate program cost for the full two years:

All Certificate program students may pay using a quarterly or monthly payment plan.

Individual Enrollment costs per course:

Individual Enrollment sudents must pay in full by the class start date.

If you find that your payment level is still beyond your means, please call us to discuss your situation. We do not want to turn away any students because of an inability to pay.
