JUST FOOD INTERNS

Just Food Interns Can't Be   !

Marlie Wilson
City Chicken Intern

Marlie is a senior at NYU's Gallatin School for Individualized Study, where she concentrates in "Food Justice." Her favorite vegetable is "bok" choy and she likes to wear scary food costumes for Halloween: this year she was a genetically-modified ear of corn, and next year she plans on being a deviled egg.

Jonathan Sandor Goldman
Community Food Education Intern

Jonathan is passionate about cities, the natural environment, and food. Born and raised in Manhattan, he spent last summer building and growing an urban farm and education center in Berkely, California. There, he saw the power of gardening to transform people's attitudes towards nutrition and nature. He's a strong believer in public parks, the communal dinner table, simply roasted veggies, and pizza by the slice.

Meredith Wells
Chicken Intern

Meredith is currently working toward her Masters degree in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Rutgers University. Her work focuses on the ways in which contemporary urban farming, gardening and chicken keeping have the ability to reshape relationships between global capital, vocation, and domesticity. Her favorite vegetable is eggplant.

Ashley Rafalow
Fresh Food for All Intern

Ashley is a graduate student at the CUNY School of Public Health, pursuing a master's degree in public health nutrition. Her favorite veggie is - no kidding!- beets and her recent cooking endeavors include banana nut muffins, farfalle with acorn squash and sage, and curried cauliflower. She's excited to be part of the Just Food Team.
